Teaching is one of my passions. I love to see a student's excited smile as he or she understands new concepts. I love to see students who disliked reading and writing when they first came to my classroom, enjoy it by the end of our school year together. Our students are our future, and I feel priviledged to be a part of shaping that future through the students in my classroom.
I grew up living in the Northridge school district, though I did not attend here. I spent my summers doing 4-H projects and showing rabbits at the Hartford Fair. I received my teaching degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and then a Masters in Cross Cultural Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary. I spent 5 years teaching in Texas while working on my masters. Two of those years I taught Kindergarten, the other two third grade. My last year in Texas I worked as a nanny while I finished my degree. I moved back to Ohio and started working for Northridge. I taught 2nd grade for six years and loved teaching that age group. After six years though, I was ready for a change. I took a two years Leave of Absense and went to Chaing Mai, Thailand, where I worked as a 2nd grade teacher at Grace International School, a school whose mission is to give a good education to missionary kids. I moved back to Ohio and returned to Northridge where I taught 5th grade Language Arts for 1 year. Now I'm currently teaching Kindergarten.
