The start of the 2017-18 school year has been a success. As the new Superintendent of Schools, I have enjoyed meeting the students and seeing the pride they take in all that they do. We are lucky to have such a dedicated team of teachers and support staff working to provide our students with quality learning experiences.
As I begin my twentieth year in education, I can't help but reflect on the great people I have met and relationships that have been forged over the years. I have met so many new people and learned of many great opportunities provided here at Northridge Local Schools. The staff and students at Northridge are one part of what makes the school system great; the support and engagement from the community are critical as well.
This fall I am going to be conducting a Superintendent's "Listening Tour." The tour is a chance for me to be out in the community meeting with various community leaders, citizens, neighbors, and families. This Listening Tour will be informal and can happen at a time that is convenient for you and a couple of your friends, colleagues, or neighbors; no group is too large or small. I will be able to share a little bit about myself, but, most importantly I plan to listen to you- your ideas and thoughts about the schools- and learn about the communities which the Northridge Local Schools serve.
I have some listening tour stops set up at the local libraries- check our website for complete details. There is still time to set up more listening tour stops. If you might be interested in hosting an informal stop along the Listening Tour, please contact my office at 740-967-6631, and we can answer any questions you might have and set up a time for me to gather with your group and listen.
It's a Great Day to be a Viking!
