The start of the 2017-18 school year is fast approaching. As the new Superintendent of Schools, I am looking forward to the teachers and students returning to school. The administrators and support staff have been hard at work this summer preparing for the new year, and they, too, are excited to welcome everyone back to school.
As I begin my twentieth year in education, I can't help but reflect on the great people I have met and relationships that have been forged over the years. I am looking forward to meeting new people and learning all about the great things going on in Northridge Local Schools. The staff and students at Northridge are one part of what makes the school system great; the support and engagement from the community are critical as well.
This fall I am going to be conducting a Superintendent's "Listening Tour." The tour is a chance for me to be out in the community meeting with various community leaders, citizens, neighbors, and families. This Listening Tour will be informal and can happen at a time that is convenient for you and a couple of your friends, colleagues, or neighbors; no group is too large or small. I will be able to share a little bit about myself, but, most importantly I plan to listen to you- your ideas and thoughts about the schools- and learn about the communities which the Northridge Local Schools serve.
If you might be interested in hosting an informal stop along the Listening Tour, please contact my office at 740-967-6631, and we can answer any questions you might have and set up a time for me to gather with your group and listen. Enjoy the last few weeks of summer break and the Hartford Fair, and we will see you August 17th for the first day of school.
It's a Great Day to be a Viking!
