Principal's Message

Amanda Bernowski
High School Principal

Northridge Families and Community,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 academic year! It is with honor and gratitude that I begin my first year as your High School Principal. I am excited to work with you, your students and the community. Even after fifteen years in education, I am still antsy to start the new year, I still find it hard to sleep the night before and am, too, a ball of energy the morning of the first day of school.

Each year is full of promise. Everyone has a fresh start and a chance to be the best version of themselves possible. We are here to support you in your journey to greatness. From cheering our community on at sporting events to classroom walkthroughs watching students engage in their learning in new and innovative ways, we are here to champion them and to celebrate their success. With the new beginnings and changes this year, the energy from the passage of the levy, and the existing pride in being members of the Northridge community, I am confident that this year will be amazing.

As the Principal, it is my belief that none of my students are “average”. All of our students are exceptional in some way. From golf to ceramics and from CCP English to Chemistry, each one of our students has infinite potential. We all play a role in what they do with that potential. As educators and, a part of the Northridge community, it is our responsibility to encourage our students to challenge themselves and to never give up when it doesn’t come easily. Teenagers need time to explore, reflect, assess, calibrate, and even be bored! It is in those areas that the gems of their greatness are waiting for discovery.

We are here to serve and encourage. Please do not hesitate to contact us with questions and concerns. I look forward to working with your students and making the 2019/2020 school year the best year yet!

Mrs. Chamberlain-Bernowski
