The Foster Care Liaison for an Ohio District Educational Service (ODES) is a designated staff member responsible for ensuring the educational stability, immediate enrollment, and, when necessary, transportation for students in foster care, with their contact information maintained in the Ohio Educational Directory System (OEDS). They act as the primary point of contact between schools and public children services agencies to facilitate data sharing and, if needed, "best interest" determinations for school placement.
